Hi, I’m Raven!

If it weren’t for the Lord, I would be dead—physically and spiritually.

I’ve made more than my share of mistakes—choices that led me down a path of destruction. Between drugs, alcohol, unhealthy relationships, and broken friendships, it is only by God’s grace that I am alive to tell my story. I spent years searching for love in all the wrong places, trying to prove my worth to people who never deserved it, all while living in a culture that praised my ability to suffer in silence. On the outside, I appeared disciplined and put together. On the inside, I was battling depression and crippling anxiety.

Everything began to change in 2018.

After experiencing deep loss—of jobs, relationships, finances, and hope—I reached my lowest point. But in that place, the Holy Spirit called me to get up and find my purpose in God. I returned to prayer, journaling honestly, and taking accountability for my choices. Through Scripture, God revealed both His forgiveness and my need to forgive others. Slowly, He began restoring what had been broken, teaching me to trust Him as I rebuilt my identity.

I am still a work in progress, but I no longer move the same.

Nevermore attached to the people, places, and patterns that once held me in bondage, I now walk in the freedom of being made new. The Nevermore Journal was born from that transformation—a space for honest reflection at the intersection of faith, culture, work, and justice.

Here, I write to encourage others to recognize God’s movement in their lives, to release what no longer serves them, and to move forward with strength, clarity, and purpose.

My prayer is that these words help you feel seen, understood, and uplifted as you rise from the ashes—grounded in faith and empowered to walk boldly in your own “nevermore.”
